Comparing the Skydio 2 and the Mavic 2 Pro is like comparing apples and oranges. One will likely fit your needs better than the other but let's go ahead and break some of the differences down.
First off both of these drones have their strengths and weaknesses.
The Skydio 2 offers the most intelligent and best obstacle avoidance on the market currently and if you are looking for a drone to film yourself exploring the world around you or doing any sort of action sports this is the one.
The Mavic 2 offers the best image quality of a compact foldable drone currently on the market and also the best and most robust control link system around. Compared to the Skydio 2 the Mavic 2 doesn't avoid obstacles as well or fly through them intelligently like the Skydio 2 does.
Both the Mavic 2 and the Skydio 2 offer excellent image quality for both photo and video though the Skydio is limited to 12mp not 15 as I state in the video below.
It comes down to how you plan to use the drone. If you want to be the pilot and fly the drone while occasionally using some smart features like quick shots and you want the ability to fly and night and get the highest image quality then the Mavic 2 pro is going to be the best choice. If you want a drone that will do most the flying for you while filming great footage of you exploring outside while you don't have to think about flying the drone as much then the Skydio 2 is for you.
The bottom line is both are amazing tools for capturing video or photos and its a great time to be alive with tools like these available to us.
